RULES

R-e-s-p-e-c-t
→Be respectful of your fellow players. Consider how much (or little) free time people may have, how much (or little) mental energy they may have. Assume everyone else has their own idea of fun and a threshold of energy they can spend on it.

→Be respectful of the setting. Don't worry, there will be plenty of visited settings that your character can break if you want them to. Let's just not snap any core mechanics so that we can all get to all those places, first.

No kicking the sand castle we're all building in the box!
Communicate
→Plan things out OOCly as needed, and remember that IC actions can result in IC consequences. Try to warn each other of possibly triggering things in threads as far in advance as you can. That way, avoiding it even coming up in a thread is simpler to manage.

It's not a perfect system by any means, but if something slips into a thread naturally? Well, that happens. Just let folks know, so the thread can be steered accordingly, or even have a recent tag edited.

→If a potential misunderstanding is brewing, try to talk it out before it can escalate. See "be respectful of your fellow players" above. If you try and it seems like you need a mod involved, that's okay too. We can't promise to fix it, but we can try.
Relax
Yes, that's a rule. The beatings will continue until morale improves.

→Okay. So. Maybe someone's slow to tag back. Maybe they seem to only be favoring another thread. (Sometimes that's like comfort food for the brain, you know?) Or they're tagging threads fitting one mood versus another. Perhaps threads they can answer in short tags vs long? Ones that take less thought vs more?

We all have those days... and from the other side, those times when we wonder. Just try to relax, and if you're in doubt communicate (as mentioned before).

→Let's just try to keep in mind we're all here for a nice time. Take it easy, don't push yourself if you can't or even just don't want to, and try to empathize. It's the best we can do, right?
AC Requirments
Activity Check is every couple months, just to check in. This is to let people know who's here still to plot with as much as anything.
Play is fair game so play fair.
→Play restrictions are exceptionally light. Don't control named NPCs, don't control other PCs. Don't make decisions for those characters. You can make up your own mission NPCs, you can NPC characters if you should visit your own canon, you can have your own PCs communicate and interact with each other. You can NPC someone for someone else's mission.

The sad fact is, sometimes you want closure for a story and you're just never going to get the canonmate you need.

→Tying into previous rules, if someone has limitations like how much they want someone to know about their character, communicate. You can even ask us to be a go between. If someone has these limitations? Respect it.
IC =/= OOC
→This is a basic RP tenant. Just because you know Bob is a bad dude, doesn't mean your character automatically knows that too.

→This also counts for when your character knows things you don't! Usually another player is happy to give you things you can and can't notice, either via permissions form (which may be linked on their info card) or just by asking. It's a great way to let another player meta on their character too.

Is your character an expert at psychology? Do they have magical Empathy? Your RP partner can help you out with things your character could pick up.
